Abbie Cornish (born 7 August 1982) is an Australian actor from Australia. Cornish is best known for her performances in films like Heidi, Fanny Brawne and Sweet Pea (in Sucker Punch), Lindy and RoboCop (2011) and Sarah as well as Geostorm (2017). Gilpin was able to gain a significant amount of TV experience in the following seasons, mostly through guest roles. She finally got her big break with Nurse Jackie's role as a regular on the show in the year 2013. Gilpin appeared in Nurse Jackie over 34 episodes as the character Dr. Carrie Roman Gilpin before it was cancelled in June 2015. The following year, Gilpin made an appearance in the thriller-mystery True Story (2015).

The adoptive parents are American white with military training and her mother is Filipino.
